Why is my dog suddenly a Murderer?

He is 8yrs old, only 10lbs. In the last 2 days tried to kill 1 bird, finished the job on a different bird today. I know he is an animal but can I do anything to stop this behavior? I have a couple bird feeders in the yard. He has always acted curious when they are around. I guess now he has a taste for blood and it is too late. I do plan to move the feeders, but how do I change this aggression that has never been present? He is very sweet, I think he wants to play, and actually caught them...advice please.

Well, is your a dog a 'bird dog'?

Mine is, and he always chases birds, and luckily, never caught one.

But, you can make a 'bird dog' a 'non-bird dog'?

Like, thats who he is, thats what he carries in the family.

It will be hard now that he has done it but now all you can do is watch him real well. if he starts for a bird call him back over and over.  i also hope you showed him the bird and told him no. or bad dog. what kind of dog is he?  if he is a terrier type you may not be able to stop it. its bred into him good luck
