ok, so i took a speed test on Speedtest.net and it says that my download speed is 402 Kb/s. yet when i'm downloading files the maximum speed it goes up to is 30 kb/s. i tried download accelerators (lots of them), but they only made downloads 2-3 kbps faster. why is my download speed so slow?

btw, the speed of my wireless connection is 36.0 Mbps (as it says in the taskbar icon).

  1. clean your hard drive

    buy Norton 360

it gets rid of junk and viruses

  2. maybe depending on how old it is (the computer) or was it a really cheap your computer was

  3. your answer Is

The difference between Bits and Bytes

you have 8 bits in 1 byte

Example My speed is 1500kbits ps my maximum download speed is 150 bytes per second

So no matter what speed your connection is your download is always 1/10 of rated speed, this is maximum but depending where download is from could be less as some servers limit bandwidth so more can download from them
