Question:

Why is my female betta floating on her side at the top of her tank?

Ever since I got her, which was yesterday, she's been lying down on her right side. Also, every time she tries to swim down, she floats back up. So I set up like a little home for her to swim under and stop floating back up. Now she won't come out. Check these pictures out, these were taken before I set up the little home. She's the one the left. This is a new tank but I had the male on the right for a month now. Well here are the pictures:

  1. im afraid under these sercumstances there is not much to do it might not last the night im sorry but if you have the body and the receipt take it back to the petstore and they might give you a new one that hasn't happend to me with a betta but it could have not developed it's swim bladder to full size or some other organ


  2. Looks like in inflated swim bladder. There's really nothing you can do. :(
