Why is my guppy fish eating the other guppy tail?

  1. they always do it and every other fish you will ever get will proberly do it to i wouldn't worry to much about it although it might be an idea to keep them in a ratio of 3/4 female to every male


  2. my guppy did that... the other one eventually died. i had been told previously that they were fairly peaceful fish but maybe i was badly advised.  

  3. Guppies normally are peaceful fish... but they can get a little nasty sometimes.  Like male bettas, male guppies can get jealous of other fish who have long, flowy tails, and will attack them to try to remove their tails.  The only way to stop this behavior is to seperate the fish.
