My two Roborovski hamsters were doing something one day. The fat one, China, was either grooming or eating the little guy, Mayo. Mayo was laying flat on his back when China began doing something to Mayo's mouth and under with China's mouth! -_-' When I tried to get their attention, China stopped, then Mayo stood up as fine and usual.

Is it eating? grooming? kissing? Is it normal???

i dont know if they are either female or male...I just wanna make sure my hamsters are okay!

it happened during the day time, and it happened twice

  1. i think that it's just grooming but if china's a male then...

  2. It could be fighting i highly suggest you separate them most hamsters dont do good in pairs

  3. It's grooming.

    They don't kiss, they're hamsters.

But parts of their grooming can seem very intimate, but there's nothing sexual or romantic behind it.

I'm not sure about dwarfs, but I know gerbils recognize each other via their saliva and this can look like a 'kiss'- so maybe dwarfs do too.

But nothing to worry about, it's just grooming.

  4. there grooming

  5. its a submission gerbils do it wen ready to mate there not male and female are they get it checked to be safe u dont want a surprise litter or they will be grooming eachother but if on its back then that is a sbmission nothin to worry about if the other hamster doesnt like it then it will tell it to stop

  6. It IS breeding. They flip on their backs and let the other sniff and stuff..... Sorry to be so detailed!
