I don't download games or have any music downloaded on my PC. I also don't download random things on the net. The only programs i have are my Norton Antivirus, and my Microsoft Office. Is there something I need to do to get it make to its' fast pace. It is insane how slow it is going. Please help!! Do I need to clean something out, how about when it says I have to do a Java update, is that really needed? Doesn't just take up more space? I am confused.

  1. You should install the java update but it won't make the internet any faster nor any slower.  You should make sure you don't have the highest firewall settings on Norton because this can interfere with web browsing.  Also, if you have Firefox, you can go to Tools, Clear Private Data and it will delete your internet history, saved form history and any cookies.  You can also do this on your start menu but I don't remember how at the moment.  You may want to search "how to delete cookies" on YouTube.

  2. you should install the java update, but its going to take a while with your "slow" connect.

    So here are some suggestions

-Make sure your firewall isn't blocking any traffic.

-Make sure if your using a wireless network, that its secure with a password, or else hundreds of people will want access to it via their laptops and will slow down the connection.

-Make sure nothing on your computer is secretly downloading material or if God forbid someone is using your computer for a DDOS. So try finding software like Online Armour to monitor your traffic connections, so you can see what process is using how much of your bandwidth.

-Try clearing all your cookies, internet history and what not

-Make sure that the problem isn't your ISP (Internet service provider) fault which is providing you with the slow connection

    Hope I helped
