It can be a nice 80 degrees outside and when I come in it's 87 inside my house. All the windows are open, so I'm wondering what the reasons could be?

  1. The reason why your house could be hotter inside than outside could be many reasons.  First of all, the style of your home could be one of the determining reasons.  The angle of your roof hitting the south side could bring up the temp..  Also, how much insulation or any does your house have.  Lack of trees or shade is another factor.  The best way to cool your home naturally is to bring down the shades during the day.  If you have windows open, be sure that you have a cross breeze.  Other than that, fans and air conditioners will be the answer along with keeping your shades/blinds closed.  If your home is poorly insulated, think of getting that done to save money on heating and cooling your home.

  2. you have to consider what your house is made off, if you have thick walls then that may be the reason, also if you have so many things inside which lessen the space of your house, that will add too...

You can also try gardening and putting plants in pots around your house, so clean/fresh air will come into your house ^_^v

    Goodluck and Happy Summertime! ^_^

  3. enclosed are will hold heat in not to mention the many things in the house that is powered by electricty. and think when it cools down outside the house will continue to hold more heat and will take longer to cool
