When I try to sync new songs to my iPod, my iPod is running out of space. However, the majority of the data on my iPod is not audio, but a mysterious orange color labeled "other." What is this 'other' and how can I get rid of it to sync new songs?

Here is a picture of my capacity bar that shows up when I try to sync: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b367/Koeji/capacitybar.png

  1. Check what you have chosen to sync onto your ipod.  You may have accidentally checked some random files

  2. i would call a proffesional

  3. Yes. Other is usually stuff stored in portable disk mode. or it could be apps if its a touch.

  4. Other can either be photos podcasts or movies.

    :)

  5. The other bar could be contacts, and games ect.

Edit: Kieran S does not help if you have videos and photos then the colors bar for video will be purple and the color bar for photos is yellow.

  6. Enable disk use and open my computer. Make sure there is nothing in there that you have saved.
