  1. Does he take his ball outside?

If he does, take him for a walk when he was hungry. Give small amount of food (his favorite) while you take away the ball.

If he doesn't, take the ball outside and focus on other preferred activities with treats. Off leash dog area is good for this, as he will prefer other dogs.

  2. I think it's a terrier thing, i too have a ball obsessed JRT!!!

He would play ball 24/7 if he could, we have to hide them or he too will bark, scratch the walls and sit staring at them!!

His all time favourite is a 'Boomer Ball, 8",' made by the company of animals, it's really tough and due to the size he can't get it in his mouth to destroy it! They are sold as indestructible and it's true!!

I wouldn't worry, as long as he's happy that's all that matters.

  3. My  jack russel is the same, give him a squeaky toy or something else .

  4. My Labs the same way with her ball.

As long as if keeps him happy then leave him be, better him to be obsessed with a ball than your shoes or something else he shouldn't have.

  5. Let him have it. If he enjoys it so much, why do you want to take it away from him. He will eventually get bored with it one day. If you really don't want him playing with the ball, take it away and distract you dog for a while.
