  1. its because your teeth and jaw are shifting, and the other part of the jaw isn't moving yet.

the ortho had me in a herbst for a year, which encourages the actual jaw to grow forward..

but it doesn't have a retention device.

so for 18 months my jaw was forward, but my teeth didn't grow to meet up, so i moved my jaw to where they did.

so my jaw was always clicking..

but when i got the rubber bands, it went away cause my teeth grew to meet up.

but it'll prob go away with time.

  2. I am not sure it is considered "normal", but mine does this often.  Sometimes I'll sleep on my face funny - and when I wake up I can't open my mouth all the way unless I 'pop' it.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with the rubberbands.  Your teeth/jaw are/is being positioned.

I wouldn't worry.  Maybe just bring it up to your ortho next time you go.

  3. It's popping because your jaw-bone is shifting out of place. I personally have had this before, it is normal.

  4. I had the same thing!!! And a few day after I got my braces off, then it went away!

  5. i have braces and my jaw pops but nothings wrong with me! i have had braces fro 2 1/2 years and i am getting them off on august 21! so yeah i have had some expericence. if it gets much worse go to ur ortho

  6. consult a doctor . i think it is not too serious.

  7. dentist????

  8. Mine pops all of the time too.  The dentist does not seem concerned about it, so I'm not either.  As long as it doesn't hurt, you probably should not worry about it.

  9. My jaw does that too, but I don't wear braces... Its done it for as long as I can remember, so I just assume its normal.  It doesn't hurt, so I don't worry about it.

    I'm sure you'll be fine.

  10. i have braces and that started happening to me about 5 months ago, it is normal don't worry, it will go away, but then come back, it happened to my friend when she had braces too no need to be scared, your fine :)

    hope i helped :)

  11. It sounds like TMJ. I have had it for many years and it has never given me a problem.
