Question:

Why is my kitchen faucet pipe stuck?

Under my kitchen sink, the hot and cold water pipes come up out of the concrete floor, and have adaptors on top. Those adaptors are for compression connections. To each of them is connected a thin pipe, which takes the water up to the faucet.

I wanted to replace those thin pipes. I unscrewed the compression nuts from the adaptors, and tried to pull the pipes out. The hot water pipe pulled out easily, and I replaced it. But the cold water pipe is stuck in the adaptor. It will pull out 1/8 inch, but it acts like there is something on the end of it, causing it to catch on the adaptor. The ferrule is in the 1/8 inch that pulls out easily. Whatever is catching it is below.

Why would the pipe get caught like that? What could be on the end of it? How can I get it out?

  1. just give the small supply tube a twist with  pliers or channel locks , sometimes they need a bit or persuasion. maybe  someone installed a tube that is very long  ,and goes way down into the larger pipe . these tend to get stuck more often.

  2. idk but my mamaws is stuck to LOL

  3. Try putting some lime away or vinegar on it. I don't know what else to tell you except it could be hard water build up.
