I was told my Kodak easy sharfe and dock are obsolite. Why would that happen? If I buy a camera and dock, why won't it continue to work as long as I have it?

  1. What it probably means is that they no longer manufacture new units of the one you have. They may also not support the product with service or technical help through the company. I wouldn't worry about it the device stops working.

  2. Sounds like somebody wants to sell you a new camera.  Or wants you to buy a new camera so they can use it.

If it's still working and you're happy with it, it's not obsolete.  Well, unless maybe you buy a new computer (and get rid of the old one) and the new computer doesn't have a port for whatever kind of connector your dock uses.  But if it uses USB, you're fine, and if it uses serial or parallel you can always get a USB adapter for that.
