Why is my laptop making funny noise?

its a 2007 toshiba ,widows xp,satellite laptop, all of a sudden especially when i just turn it on, its making like a creaking noise...is it somthing to be concerned about?

Umm is a CD-ROM or DVD in it? Its the sound it makes when its in. And BTW I have Toshiba laptop too and it also makes a creaking noise. If it doesn't last more than like 5 seconds its just I think the hard drive thing making noise.

iv had this problem before, you have to remember to feed the little hamster on the inside regularly.

On a serious note, it could either just be the hard drive wirring into life, this can sometimes cause odd noises, such as creaking occasionally.

otherwise it could be the sudden change in temperature causing the plastic to expand or contract. this would make a similar noise.

At the end of the day, my friend, you are probably best off getting it checked out at perhaps PC Wold or another big electircal retailer/repair store.

The Tech Guys   have always been amazing with me, my toshiba equium completely died on me once, and they even helped me get one of my restore CD repaired so i couldfix the job myself!

probably just your hard drive! they do make noise during

updates, defrag, and a few other areas.

as long as it works well, don't worry!
