Question:

Why is my launchcast station still playing spanish music when I've checked "never play this again"?

I check the "X" in the rating box of spanish music and also in each of the sub-genres of spanish music and now it plays more spanish music than ever before. Also, the pause button always causes the player to jump to another song even after waiting 30 seconds. How can I get these two functions to work correctly?

  1. Launchcast is a little perverse that way.  First, since many songs have multiple genres assigned to them, you might be having those songs play becasue of one of the other genres.  Second, Launchcast seems to think because you rated a genre (even if it is X), it should feed you other similar music.

If I were you, I would go UNrate all of those X Spanish genres and sub-genres.  Then, when you get a Spanish song you don't want, simply X the song or X the artist if you don't want anything by that artist.  After the rating takes, then you can skip the song if you want.  Eventually, Launchcast should get the idea of what you don't want to hear.  BUT, and this is important, you need to give it plenty of positive ratings for artists and/or songs that you DO like, otherwise it won't be able to figure out your tastes.
