Question:

Why is my left eye slightly higher than my right eye?

When my eyes are open and I am looking at people, they tell me that I appear to be looking "over" them with one eye. My left eye (the colored part) is higher than the right eye. In other words, if I look straight ahead where the right eye appears centered in the socket, the left eye appears higher. The eyes are out of balance. The resulting vision impact is double vision. My vision, however, is clear when I cover one eye. This is the same whether I cover the left or right eye. Using the two eyes together has become a problem. I am not experiencing any pain associated with this problem.

  1. This is quite an unusual problem. However, I think you should get your eyes checked by an optometrist.

The optometrist would normally prescribe you to do eye exercises which will correct this problem of double-vision. If that doesn't work, then you might need glasses or contact lens.

Any way, check with your optometrist. Good luck.

  2. If this is a sudden change, you should see a neurologist or an neuro ophthalmologist as soon as you can
