Why is my local disk (c) drive running out of memory?

I've only had my new lap top a month or so and haven't installed anything extra. Can i switch so things save to my other local disk D)?

  1. If you have XP or Vista, System Restore points eat up free space on your C: Drive, you need to right click your C: drive, click properties, click disk cleanup, click more options and then cleanup restore points and OK!!!


  2. you may have a bunch of c**p downloaded...you also may not be removing old programs right, you have to remove them via add/remove programs in the control pannell.

    search for Zero assumption Disk Space Visualizer and find what's taking up so much space, then ask what you can delete =3

  3. Every program you install, every file you download, every restore point the computer sets, every web site you visit (cookies take space), every on-line movie you watch, uses disk space.  You can eat 300GB of space in a couple of days if you try hard.

    See what's on the C drive, and delete programs, or move data files (but not programs) to D.

  4. Yes, you can save things anywhere you like.  The default is always C:, but you can change it to D:, and save it in any folder you want.  You will probably have to create folders, but that is very easy to do.
