Why is my log splitter hydrolics not working properly. I maintained it with oil and all the usual?

Well, On my boat, when my log splitter starts foaming, I look for a leak in the low pressure side of the pump.  the line from the reservoir tank to the pump or the tank itself may have an air leak.

sucks air, compresses it and the piston runs slower.
