Why is my male parakeet's feet so hot?

I just got two parakeets, one male one female, and when my male is on my finger his feet sometimes feel really hot, like they are buring up. I don't know why, so if you could answer my question that would be great.

This means that your bird is healthy. The only exposed skin on the bird is the skin on his feet. the rest are covered with their feathers. When the bird heats up, the blood vessels near their feet dilate making the blood come in close proximity to the feet which causes the excess heat escape from the body allowing them to cool down.

My parakeet's feet often feel hot if he's been flying or moving around a lot.  Birds can't sweat so it's just the way for the body to cool down.  If he doesn't act strange about it I wouldn't worry.

stress....he is scared of you and will have to get used to you....take him out a little more each time and it will stop eventually.

i.e.his heat beats faster and causes the heat to dissipate thru the feet

This happens with all birds. The biggest reason is that when birds rest, they tend to only stand on one foot, and put the other foot tucked into their feathers, which will make them hot. Why both feet would be warm is that birds will change their posture and switch feet periodically. But it could also mean that your bird may have injured his feet. Hold him a lot and see if he favors one foot over the other or if any signs of an injury are present. Also remember that birds have a much higher body temperature than humans!I wouldn't worry about it but its probably safe to pay attention to how it acts about his feet. If you feel like its a problem that should be looked at, a vet visit couldn't hurt! I hope I helped, and good luck with your new birds!
