Why is my mood ring black?

Question

My mood ring is black, and has been for 2 days now... The person who sold it to us told us it was the last one. The ring has not cracks or sratches on it. But no matter what I do, it won't change color.

try putting it in the freezer or outside in the sun?

I don't think it will break...as there are many other things I can think of that change color due to temperature..

the temperature of our bodies does some how reflect our feelings oddly enough ...

When "Mood Rings" turn to a "Black" color (the normal-state of "Liquid Crystal" or its natural phase/color) & no longer change at all, it basically means the "Mood Ring" has stopped working.  "Mood Rings" can more uncommonly turn to any color or a "Clear Color (No Color)" & no longer change, which again, means that they have stopped working.  Considering that the "Mood Ring" you bought was the last one the store had, it had probably been on the shelf for quite a while.  If you still have the receipt, I would recommend you take the "Mood Ring" back for a full refund.

It's seem to work the first few days and then *pooosh* it's stay one color
