Why is my mother acting SOOOO rudely?

I am engaged.

My mother claims that my fiance has done ALL sorts of aggregious things: disrespect, lying, freeloading, etc. (BTW..none of these are true). She cursed him out the other day, and betrayed my trust by telling him that she knew things that I told her in confidence.

After being prodded by my brother, she acted nicely towards him, MADE him buy her a meal and another item (knowing that he was going to be on a tighter budget this month), and pretended to be nice with him.

BUT she still doesn't like him...and told him not to call her Mom.

On top of that, she is acting very ugly with me...not speaking, etc.

Why is she acting this way?

Well it could be that your mother is having trouble adjusting to you being engaged and probably thinks if you get married she'll lose you forever. The best thing you can do at a time like this is for you and your fiancee to talk to your mother. Tell her how you and your future husband fell when she's being rude and also let her talk about how she fells about all of this. Let her know that she'll never lose you and that you'll always be there when she needs you tell her that you love her but that you're not a child anymore and are getting married to the man you love and want to spend the rest of your life with.

maybe becus she knows that u are getting married soon and she doesnt want your fiance' to 'take you away from her', maybe shes just jealous. but who knows ? just ask her
