Why is my name in ALL CAPS on my credit card, or bank account etc?

Doesnt ALL CAPS mean its a corporation?

  1. Two reasons:

    - The "lowest common denominator" technology used by all banks is OLD, with a capital OLD.

    - Bank accounts aren't case sensitive - "Mark Harrison" is the same as "MARK HARRISON" - you can write either on your cheque to me and my bank will accept it.


  2. it will be to make it easier to read, because there is sometimes confusion over lower case letters, i never did know why, i just spose its easier to read upper case letters.

    on your statements/cheques and stuff like that it will be that they are read by a computer which can only read upper case letters

  3. I think it is so they can read it better, sometimes the little letters gets smugged in coping.
