Why is my neon tetra's gill more red than usual?

  1. You should make a water change. Sounds like ammonia poisoning.

    Red streaks in the gill area is too much ammonia in your tank.

    You should make weekly water changes. Taking 20% out and filling with fresh water.

    He will "love you long time" if you do this weekly!


  2. I have been breeding these fish for almost 40 years. If you have one with red gills I would remove it from the rest of your fish immediately! It is not normal for you you to see red gills .

  3. idk, what your tank, how many tetras do you have?? Is tha ammonia high, thats probably it!

  4. I have neon tetras and they all vary in colour depth. Some a very bright while others are dull. It may be just as simple as that. If you are worried it might be something else ask an aquarium. They will tell you everything.
