Why is my new MP3 player staticy and fuzzy when its plugged into my car aftermarket cd player?

I bought a new mp3 player from Wolly-World the other day so I could have some music to listen to in my car, but when I plug it in and hit play its real staticy and I dont understand why. I tried my friends mp3 player with it, with the same cord and everything and it worked just fine. So i'm thinking it might be my mp3 player but its brand new. I dont know, any help would be appreciated like always. Thanks

mini connector cable could be faulty too. Radio shack and best buy or Fry's have them cheap if you can't get anything else to work if the vol it up too much on your mp3 player
