Why is my new computer running dead slow?

For running slow there are many causes:

Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

Spyware/Adware

RAM

De-Fragmenting

Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

De-Fragmenting

1. Right click of C Disk.

2. Click properties.

3. Click tools tab.

4. Click "Defragment now".

5. Click Defragment.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

Under steps:

1. right click on the TaskBar.

2. click the Task Manager.

3. click the processes tab.

4. double click the CPU.

5. find if the "System Idle Process" is max.

6. if not right click and click end process.

do an "MSCONFIG" clear up your desktop get rid of any screen savers if any, use ccleaner , run antivirus and anti spyware this should lighten up the load on your processor.

well, if it is new then it might just be cuz it has vista on it, I am just joking, what  would help speed it up is if you defragment, and assuming it is ruining windows then you would want to run check disk, and you should run disk clean up after that, if you want you could also download and use ccleaner, it is free, and will help speed up your pc. But if you are on the mac then i don't know why it would be ruining slow, same with linux.

It could also be a virus, so if you are running windows, then do a full scan of supper anti spyware, the free  edition is all you need, the only different wit the payed one is it has a firewall, and sum extra features, but the free one has the same scan

there are many reasons for this.One could be the make of your laptop,makes such as advent are really bad because they become faulty easily and breakdown quickly.Also when you get a new computer you MUST consider protection from viruses,bugs etc.There are anti-virus programs such as kapersky that are free.Also if it is slow the computer might not be that good with its processor.Go back to the shop and ask them for a new one or ask them why your computer is like this.I'm sure they would be happy to help!!

It's either got Norton or Vista on it. Go with your own suppliers' security package, or download a decent package online. Then defrag, & carry out virus & spyware checks. It may also be that your supplier is experiencing problems with their network, so check there first.
