is it normal, or am i watering it too much, or is the soil depleted...or something else? the white buds and stems have turned dark green, and some of the little yellow things inside the buds have turned black, but its still growing larger, and new leaves are still coming up. any green thumbs out there?

  1. It is normal just cut off the flower stem. If you water once a week thoroughly and it is still too dry it might need re-potted. It sounds like you are doing everything right.

  2. It might need alittle more light.

  3. old flowers do turn greem about a week or two after  blooming.

its normal. the yellow things in the bud tun black when the flower is spent its all normal, once the flower gets a bit greener cut off the flower

  4. If you have it on a windowsill or close to one it may be getting too much light even.   Certain plant parts become adventitious meaning they serve more than one function.  The best example is whenever an orchid or vine grows roots suspended in mid air.  These roots are meant to be rooted in soil but if they aren't they turn green and start to participate in photosynthesis.  Now back to the peace lily...  they are rain forest floor plants that were domesticated.  The dark green of the leaves means that they don't need a lot of light and actually don't always thrive in direct sunlight.
