Why is my period irregular?

Well, usually its 4 days heavy and then done. This month it's all wacky. I had 4 days heavy. Then nothing. Then bleeding again the next day. Then the next day nothing. And today I'm getting this icky thick like mucus' looking blood. ..what's going on?

Being stressed about something (regardless of whether the thing causing the stress is good or bad, but is just an example only) can cause the period to be irregular.

Also, sometimes hormone imbalances (if applicable) can cause the periods to be irregular.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
