Why is my period late?

it's been 39 days since my last period. the last couple of months my cycle has been 35 days, but it's still pretty irregular (i'm only 16). my boyfriend fingered me once about a week ago, but other than that we haven't done anything and we're always fully clothed around eachother. school just started yesterday so i guess i could be stressed from that..

i guess i just want to know why it's late and how many more days should i wait before getting worried? is more than 35 days even normal?

Periods aren't about what's normal for everyone else.  it's about what's normal for you since everyone is different.  If you periods run a little long but somewhat regularly it's not a problem.  You may want to look into birth control, esp since you and your boyfriend are experimenting a little.  It never hurts to be safe.  Also, the pill will help regulate your periods so they are 28 days and you can predict when you will have a period.
