  1. You need to take it to the vet, has your puppy been wormed lately?  Worms can do this as well it can make a dog so sick!  I do the same when feeding my dogs, their food stays out and they can get it when ever they feel hungry.  So I know it isn't that.  As for a good dog food I like science diet but it is so pricey as for some thing you can buy like in walmart purina one lamb and rice is really good as well.  I just really think there is a under line problem and you need to check in to it to be safe.  Good luck and I hope your puppy feels better and every thing works out for ya.

  2. The main ingredient in that food is corn, as is most of the brands you find at grocery stores. I admit I fed my puppies Purina Puppy Chow, and that's no better, but they were nice and plump. I'm currently switching them to Blue Buffalo since that's a higher quality food and is about the same price as Pro Plan which is what I've been feeding them. Ideally, you want to be able to feel the ribs and see them slightly. Also, with free feeding you don't know how much your dog is eating as much as you would know from set timed feeding. I used to free feed my old dog, but with two now it's impossible to do that. It does make it easier to kind of figure out when the dog needs to eliminate when you feed at a certain time.

By the way, you can find better foods at the website listed below too.

  3. its very hard to read ur text, no comma, i get lost.but i got the idea.

u should go to vet and they give u plastic cups for free with all kind of signs on it like the size of the dog, and the amount of foot it should get. it also has a breeds named so u can compare if the breed listed isnt one of urs.and u shouldnt feed ur dog like that. 3 times a day.morning at 6, at noon, and in about 7 at evening. and the dog will eat all of it, i assure u.and if he dont, DONT LEAVE  the food so he can eat later. NO. take the bowl away.he should have discipline. if he hasnt eat it all, he wasnt hungry.

and by the way, puppys are allways thin.

u should see labrador, they are huge dogs, but puppys can be very thinny

  4. some dogs first develop in height and then begin to grow in mass (like my puppy), she was awfully skinny (though completely healthy), until the age of two.

it depends on what type of dog you've got.

or, he might not like the food you feed him, maybe you should try out something else. take him to the vet to make sure, he will tell you what to do. has your dog been protected against worms?

I'm sure he will be fine, but take him to the vet just to make sure... :)

  5. IT CAN ALSO DEPEND ON WHAT BREED OF DOG IT IS, I MEAN SOME DOGS STAY LEAN AND SOME DOGS CAN'T GET SO SKINNY SO IT'S NOT THAT YOUR DOING SOMETHING WRONG IT COULD BE BECAUSE OF THE DOGS GENES, AND HOW MUCH IT PLAYS AND RUNS AND JUST YOU KNOW AD THAT AND SEE HOW THE BREED LOOKS LIKE ON THE INTERNET AND MAYBE YOUR SUPPOSE TO SEE A LITTLE OF HIS RIB. IDK HOPE THIS HELPS

  6. A puppy can be on the lean side if that is his body type. The best answer to your question is a vet who can identify your breed, and will know the bone structure and the proper weight for his age. Beneful is a good dog food for store varieties. My older dog eats it and my vet has no objections. Many readers will dispute this choice but it comes down to a good quality but a reasonable price.

Now for the feeding habits. Most dogs will gorge themselves on food. They just don't stop eating when full. It may be OK for an active puppy but it is a bad habit for him to get into. Over eating will eventually make him obese which can lead to diabetes at a young age. The extra weight can put extra stress on his muscles and bones and of course his heart. I hope you reconsider and feed him on a schedule with the appropriate amount. Feed him puppy food and the correct amount, take him for regular vet checks, make sure all vaccinations are up to date and get him neutered. You will then have a great friend who will be healthy and will be with you for many years. Have fun with your puppy.

  7. You shouldn't feed him that much food in a day. You should get a good dog food like Canidae or Wellness, and feed him what it says on the bag. Forget the canned food, it's not good for dogs. Beneful is one of the worst dog foods out there. No nutritional value at all. Your dog is literally starving to death.

  8. Some dogs are just skinny dogs.  I had a Belgian Shepherd Groenendael male who I couldn't get fat - he was so active, always on the move.  The BS Groenie female I had was on a permanent diet.

Is your pup really active.  All you can do is to provide enough good quality food for him.  Also, make sure he is wormed cos if he has worms it can make him skinnier than normal.

If you are really worried about him ask for your Vet's advice.  One of my Vets recommend that pups should be lean rather than fat as they're growing as it is better for their bones and joints, etc.

  9. If you think he's too thin, take him to the vet.

  10. If your puppy is to thin for you then maybe he is on a growth spurt and will thicken up soon...i wouldn't feed wet food its not good for there teeth...make sure he has been wormed and has the right shots...
