Question:

Why is my "Change Oli Soon" icon flasing 30 seconds after ignition if I just had my oil changed one month ago?

I have a 2002 Saturn SL2, just an an fyi.

  1. I don't know about your Saturn, but in MOST cars with those automatic reminders (including my Grand Prix) you actually have to push a button or do a sequence of steps to "reset" the monitor back to 100% after you change the oil.   The computer in the car doesn't KNOW that you changed the oil unless you tell it that you did.   So ... pull out your owners manual and look up "Oil Change Monitor" or something similar and that should tell you how to reset the monitor.  Good Luck.


  2. most GM cars have a code within the electrical system that signals the oil light to come on, what it means is that if you should change the oil at every  3000 miles and you did it at 3700 miles then it would calculate the miles difference and then once it reaches that 3000 mile mark it would flash the change oil light even though you already had it done

  4. yes  its an auto- relay. you need to disconnect your pos. battery terminal for about 3 mins. then reconnect --it should restart your relay, if you don't have a scan tool.s

  5. It doesn't take much to trigger those idiot lights.
