I bought a home with the Kenmore fridge already here, today it started making a humming sound from the ice despencer, and I have to manually shove the ice down the shoot from the inside to get it in the cup. The light stopped working and I replaced the bulb but still no light. I noticed today that the fridge is not cooling as well, and their is humidity forming. The noisy is only when the door is shut, the flap doesn't close all the way when freezer is shut.

  1. It sounds to me like your timer relay may be starting to go. Have a refrigeration person take a look at the relay. This is a very inexpensive item to replace and should not cost more than $50 with labor.

  2. I hope the first answerer is right. It could also be the compressor. Hopefully, your fridge is still under warranty.

BTW, ice makers on all makes are not any good, and are prone to failure.

Once cheep fix, check to make sure the fridge is clean on back underneath. If too much dust builds up, especially around the coils, the fridge will not be able to cool off efficiently. Also make sure there is adequate room around the fridge for air to circulate. Air circulation is key for cooling.
