Why is my roadrunner service slower than my DSL?

I'm getting roadrunner (10mbps) as a new service and it is slower than my DSL (712kbps) can someone tell me why?

  1. What time of day?  If anytime if could be a faulty cable.  If just at certain times it could be you have a bandwidth hog in the neighborhood sucking the torrents dry.

    Check your speed here:  http://www.speedtest.net

    I would do it for a couple of days at different times.

    Then contact your cable company and talk to them about it.


  2. sound to me 1 or 2 things are going on. (1) that is is using up alot of your memory (2) alot of people are getting online at the same time.

  3. too many users on the cable.

  4. temporary problem with the internet service clogging to many people logged on or a server went down.  Usually the 10mbps thing is like no service.  call the provider.
