Why is my roommate naked?

I am a freshman in college and have recently moved into a room with a guy who is a year ahead of me (and a year older). He has been living in the room for the last year and his old roommate left to go to another college. When I first moved in he told me that he was relaxed about clothes and that I should make myself at home blah blah… I was like – ok.. not really sure what he meant… it was a bit odd.

Anyway… pretty soon he’s casually walking around in his underwear or his jock strap... whatever. I’m ok with that… it’s his home. I do the same because I have brothers and it’s no big deal. It’s kind of cool to be able to relax and not worry too much about clothes.

About two weeks ago he walks from the bathroom to his bedroom naked… he had a towel that he kind of dangled in front of himself but he did not try to hide the fact that he is naked… in fact he stopped to talk to me on the way. I couldn’t help thinking that he was deliberately trying to shock me because he had this little smile and seemed to be watching my eyes to see if I looked ‘there’.

Anyway… cut a long story short… today I got home to find him laying naked on the couch… he was surprised to see me and kind of apologized by saying he was not expecting me home so early but otherwise he didn’t care too much. He covered himself a little when I first walked in but then didn’t try to cover himself at all... he just lay there.

He could tell I was uncomfortable - i didn't know where to look - and told me that he and his old roommate used to hang out naked at home and that lots of roomies do it. He asked if I was ok with it and I kind of blurted out ‘yeah!’ because I don’t wanna seem uncool. He said I don’t need to worry cause he’s not g*y or anything.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Do straight guys hang out naked with straight guys or is this guy really g*y?

i think with the way you describe it... i think he's trying to show some motives.........OR maybe you ar just exxagerating ......OR..... he's just like that......... you'll get used to it....just ignore...... you don't care about the "thing" anyway right hahaha was it big? lols

Athletes run around locker rooms together naked.  Makes me want to wander in there, just by accident...  But, no, that does not sound normal.  Just casual at home, chill out nakedness?  Naw, there's something strange about that man.

Some people are okay with being naked in front of other, specially same gender. Being okay with being naked has nothing to do with his sexuality. I know people who are g*y and are really embarrassed about being nude in front of anyone.

naturism is pretty common, maybe not so much in usa but in gremany and scandanavia quite normal. i have shared space with other women who i was comfy to be naked around, much better than having to worry about can they see my bum in this t shirt etc.

i would only be worried about skidmarks on the sofa.

theres only 2 reasons why he would do this.

either he is g*y and is trying to get your attention

or he has a big **** and likes to show it off. i know some straight guys that are "cocky" like that.

yea straight guys usually dont this so yea this is not normal. Have you told him you feel uncomfortable about that?

Yes, straight guys hang out naked with straight guys; sauna, locker room, clothing optional beaches, hot tubs et al. You'll have to judge whether or not he is g*y on some basis other than whether he is or isn't wearing clothes.

when i was 17 my mother in law always walked around her house naked and at others peoples houses to, when me and hubby had our first apartment and second one we walked around naked, threw a robe on if somebody came to the door then excused ourselves to the bedroom to get dressed if we where expecting company we were of course already dressed.

In college, I knew of a couple of guys that liked to hang out naked like your room mate.

They were straight, and I think they did it more for the shock value than anything else. Maybe with a little exhibitionism thrown in.

I would just play it off. He's not hurting you or anyone else so who cares? If he sees it's not bothering or shocking you, he might lose interest in doing it.

If he starts coming on to you, that's a different story, but I think if he were really g*y he would try a more subtle approach to seduce you-like getting you drunk.

I'm a girl, and it even makes me uncomfortable when girls change in front of me. So I can't imagine a dangling p***s is something another straight guy would wanna see.

I understand if you don't wanna say anything to him cuz it's his house but if it really makes you feel awkward then maybe you should say something. I honestly think this dude is fooling you, he's probably hiding in the closet. OR he just REALLY loves to be naked....... in front of MEN. hahaha good luck dude.

MY brother's roommate would sit naked with only a towel under him on the couch watching tv.  My brother wondered what was going thru his mind.  Live alone next semester. /
