  1. Possibly there is a fault in the cable and the red signal is not getting through. Try changing the cable.


  2. If its a comcast cable box, its the signal from the box, not the cable.  Unplug the box, unplug the cable.  Let it reset for a few minutes, then plug everyting in.  I should work.  Had the same problem, but working now
