Question:

Why is my sidebar Launchcast player not showing connected but the radio station is playing?

The sidebar screen will show the "connecting" pattern but after a few minutes I get the error message that the sidebar was not able to connect. I recently installed "REALPLAYER". If that is causing the problem, then a suggestion on how to correct the problem would be welcome. I have WINDOWS MEDIA installed but to my knowledge, Launchcast has never been utilized to provide Launchcast Radio music.

  1. I'm a little confused by what you call the "sidebar".  If you are talking about the space to the right of the Launchcast player when used under Internet Explorer, I call that the Advertisement area.  I believe Yahoo is using Flash to display the advertisement.  You could try upgrading to the latest Flash:

If you are talking about Launchcast under Yahoo Music Jukebox, then I am not sure since I haven't seen the scenario you describe.  Good luck.

I hope you mean ISP (Internet Service Provider), not IPS. Just speculating, but maybe with the Verizon Yahoo package you don't get advertisements.  You should not get commercials on Launchcast radio.  I wonder if you can switch from medium to high quality sound without requiring Launchcast Plus?
