He shimmies at the bottom when he is not doing that. He will occasionally snap out of it to eat. But then it's back to the shimmying/vertical swimming/irregular behavior.

I have a black Molly in there too. She is 100% healthy. The water conditions are A-OK. No issues. 5 gallon Hex tank.

What is the problem?

Constipation? Imminent death?

  2. thats a poor sight to see ur fish like dat frnd! i too had a black molly, from the very first day it started to swim vertical or used to lay down in the pebbles,we tried our best giving the healthiest atmosphere but unfortunately it died,im not sure of ur molly, but look out!! do inform me abt ur fish,pl. by the by ur molly looks cute!!!

  3. the only thing i could find is the following link, which suggests that a fish 'standing' on its tail is a sign of toxicity in the water. is there a high level of food leftovers at the bottom of the tank maybe? since that can have a hand in it.
