Why is my sump pump going off every 15 Minutes?

Well we have had quite a lot of rain from a couple weeks ago but sump pump goes off a lot more now why does it do this?

It is probably starting because it needs to. If it isn't enclosed go watch it for a while, that is what I did with mine. It seemed to be starting an awful lot so I went and watched it pump until the float shut it off then waited and it, (the hole my pump is in) filled with water very quickly. The rain probably took awhile to seep down into the ground.
