I have three telephone outlets in my home and only one is affected with this problem...it is not the telephone unit but in the outlet itself. For years I always had a bad hum on this outlet and the phone company could not figure it out. Then it changed into radio reception instead of a hum. I am totally confused.

  1. Hi m2pr@att: If this 3rd jk works & you hear a radio station or as you say prior hum, there is a problem with that tel line to that jk. I suggest you run a new cable(4 twisted pairs,NOT Red,Gn,Yel,Bk spiraled) from the dmark or inside directly to this jk. If you can disconnect the present wiring at the source, do so.If your jks are wired from one to the next & etc, you will have to determine this arrangement.Try this for now. exbelltel

  2. lol, um, not quite sure what the 1st person wrote....

Radio Shack sells (at least used to sell) a telephone magnet that you can clip on your phone cord.  Make sure the telephone jack on the wall is not corroded.  Try that same phone on a different outlet.

Sometimes if you're near a local radio radio tower, it will bleed through.  I had the same problem, and I called the local radio station, and they suggested this magnet, I mentioned above.  It worked for me.

It is possible that the tower is quite a few miles away from where the actual station is located.
