Why is my video camcorder going off?

i have a older video recorder and It keeps going off in 20 seconds and I turn it back on it comes on again, but goes off again.Also ,would the battery cause it to go off?

It seems like there is barely enough charge to keep it going, but just enough to turn on if you force it to but not enough to stay on.

You did not say if you had gone this route...How hard would it be to replace the battery or at least recharge it.

it has to be the battery.... specially if it's an older video camera the battery is dead.

even if you charge it, and the battery will look like it's charged but it's only enought to live 20 seconds.....

get an a/c adapter and plug it in so you have power forever.

if it keeps doing it after that, it might be the Auto power saver or some special user lock thing. so go thought the menu's and turn it off.

if you can't go thought the menu's and find it within 20 senconds, take out the tape from the camera to prevent it from turning of so quickly.

and if it keeps doing it after that....I don't know?
