Why is ocean water salty?

if the river is not salty then why ocean is?

River water is not salty due to the continous flow of fresh water from high lands. This flow allows the salt to be carried away into the ocean. The ocean is like a vast dam where all the salt from rivers is deposited. Since the salt has no where to go from the ocean, it remains there. Thus, the ocean's water is salty.

There are actually salt rocks in or by the ocean. I don't know the exact term for salt rocks but it is where the salt in the ocean comes from. Humans acually get their sodium chloride (salt) from these rocks. The salt enters the ocean because of the whethering process. Over time the waves of the ocean can deterierate these salt rocksabsorb the tiny salt minerals/particals into the ocean. Also, other natural whethering can occur on the rocks, such as wind making the rocks into tiny sediments or other whethering. Humans don't get their salt from natural weatherinf though. They probably have some way of grinding the rocks into tiny particals of salt.

because my friend, the Blue Whale (the largest animal that lives or has ever lived) releases 30 tonnes of sperm in the ocean when it mates! That then is why the sea is salty

Long time ago, there was a very kind giant that lives in this Earth. He's very kind and loves to help people.

One day, the people ran out of salt in their island so they have to go to the other island to get salt there. The problem is, they can't get their because, there were no bridges at that time.

The kind giant had an idea. He said he would lie down to the ocean and the people can use his body as a bridge to get to the island where there are tons of salt. The people agreed.

They used the giant's body as bridge and got to the other island where they got sacks of salt. Each man brought a sack of salt. They were billions of them.

The people are on their way back to their island, with sacks of salt carried on their backs when suddenly, an ant bit the giant's p***s. The giant was shocked so he flinched causing the men to fall to the ocean together with their sacks of salt, which caused to ocean to be salty.
