  1. It can be opened, and you will never know who took the money.

Use USPS money order or Western Union.

  2. Because, unfortunately, there are postal workers who will actually open up mail if they suspect that cash is in the envelope. The most obvious types of mail to be opened are greeting cards. Many people send greeting cards with cash through the mail. If you have to send cash through the mail (especially in a greeting card), the best thing to do is to seal it in an envelope and then seal that envelope in an Express Mail envelope. Express Mail allows you to track your package by providing a tracking number.

  3. The obvious one should be enough: cash does get "lost"

  4. It's the obvious and because you have no recourse.  If a check is stolen, you can place a stop payment.  If it's cash, it's gone.

  5. Dont need another reason other than the obvious!

Plus there is western unions all over the world....

  6. I learned an old trick from my grandmother when i send cash through the mail. She convinced me that the mail would be photocopied somehow to see contents, with all the pre-cautions being taken at the P.O., so anyway she wrapped money in aluminum foil so the x-ray machines would not see contents, sounds paranoid? But i have been doing the same thing for many yrs. Just put the foil inside a card. The Post Office is supposed to be very reliable, it will deliver your mail with or without $ in it.

  7. there is no answer other than the obvious...
