Why is one of my channels all black?

when I turn my tv to a certain channel it has no picture, just a black screen, it has been like this for a few days, do you know why?

  1. If you have a newer t.v. that has a tuner,you should be fine,but if you have a t.v. that over 5 years old,you need a digital box avail at any stores-wal-mart-best buy,etc.next year,they will stop broadcasting over the air for older style t.v.s.by adding the box you'll get the reception.


  2. perhaps they are not broadcasting... or you're not set up for HDTV

  3. Is the channel a local off-air channel (rabbit ears?)? The station may have moved to an all digital broadcast already and has vacated that analog spot.

    Also, sometimes Satellite companies will move channels in their lineups and give a black screen, too.

  4. it could be that particular channel is having problems with broadcasting, i really don't think there is anything wrong with your tv.
