so i live in a 3 level townhome with central a/c...the basement stays cool even without a/c. The main level stays cool with ac...sometimes even without. The upstairs is noticably warmer...although bearable with air conditioning. I know warm air rises so this progression is no surprise to me. However, I have one room of the three upstairs that is use as my office. It is noticably warmer than the other 2 rooms...almost to an uncomfortable point.

I have some theories. It is a smaller room (10 x 9) and desktop computer is often running in it, which generates heat. Also, it is facing the front of the house, which gets a lot of sun. I have no blinds on the window so the sun heats up the room all day. A large tree provides shade in the back of the house where the other two rooms are.

But the room is still uncomfortably hot at night...

Any ideas of what I could do? I dont want to get a window ac unit bc it would be ugly to have one of those hanging out the front.

  1. Have you been in the attic to see if the a/c duct into that room is broken or torn?  You may be air conditioning the whole attic.  Or, if the duct work is not in the attic, there may be a blockage (torn insulation) in the duct.  In my house, the a/c in the attic was put together with air ducts feeding off in all directions, and the one to a small side room was built so it only had 1/4 of the duct work open to the a/c flow.

  2. Also, if it's the farthest room from the air conditioning unit, it's not getting quite the blast of air that the lower level rooms are getting.

  3. BECAUSE THERES HUMIDITY LEVEL IS VERY HIGH AND

    U RARELY GO THERE
