  1. Probably in too small of a tank as well as the possibility of fin rot (which was likely brought on by too small of a tank). Goldfish need large aquariums, not tiny bowls, to be healthy.

  2. its not just that simple a newly arrived goldfish suffers too much stress upon arrival in its new house it should be conditioned clean water with rocksalt and good aeration.  Your goldfish is suffering from fin rot buy a medication for this and add a little rocksalt with good aeration.   A good house for goldfish is a big tank with good filter.

  3. tail rot.

  4. Clean clean clean water. People should not underestimate the healing powers of clean water. Your goldfish most likely has fin rot and doing frequent water changes and providing medicated food should help out alot.

Edit: Aquarium salt is a good thing for most fish but cory's and aquarium plants do not do well with salt in there water.

  5. It is probably from tail rot, which is a very common fish disease. They have medications for them at a petstore, you can either by a water solution or some food.

  6. Fin rot. Especially if the tail tattered and discolored. I would suggest aquarium salt, follow the directions. It helps give your fish electrolytes it needs. I did that for my corydoras for 3 days and wow! What an improvement. Also a stress free environment helps your fish. Keep water quality good. If it doesn't get better I would suggest Maracyn Two. Follow the directions and in 5 days there should be a big improvement.

  7. I also, think it is tail rot. My neighbor had a goldfish that had it too. Check the pet supply store for medications.
