Question:

Why is our nation turning into a theocracy?

I feel like half of our nation wants to consistently "forcefeed" their beliefs onto the rest of us. With this whole creationism in schools c**p that Republicans are now pushing for, aren't we going back in time?? Aren't we becoming a less progressive by trying to force christianity onto everyone? I thought religious freedom was something that America stands for? And also...ever notice how the most religiously based nations tend to be the nations with the most violence (*cough cough - Muslim/Islamic nations)?

  1. Yeah, communist nations are really peaceful.

Take responsibility. It's humans that suck, not religion.

  2. It isn't.  I've been alive for quite some time and I can tell you that America still has a freedom of religion and no theocratic elements to it whatsoever.

  3. They want creationism to be taught in school to show an alternative to evoloution. I personally do not believe either should be taught in the main stream classes. It would avoid the whole issue, and its not like it is a huge part of class anyway. So those who are really interested can take other courses like maybe electives that teach both and give both views so people can decide for them self what they believe. And it is natural for people to vote their religon would dictate. Religion is a very powerful thing and is important to many people. And not the violent countries are the ones that are very religous. I dont think mexico is at war with anyone and i believe the statistic is that over 88% of the country is Catholic.

*You are right, you cant opt out of 8th grade science. Maybe it should be moved into 9th grade so you can make that choice. Thats the point i was trying to make. I dont think the way its done now is right either. I dont think it should be taught in the eighth grade to be honest.

And I also don't believe that the national government needs to be making decisions about school, it should be a state issue in my opnion.

But some people cannot afford to have their children go to private schools. Some are as expensive as going to college and that is just something a lot of families cannot afford. So are you saying that families who cannot pay for their children to go to a private school should have their children be taught only one thing about how they came to be, and have it something that goes against what they believe in and not have any other alternative shown? I disagree.

And saying it has to do with serperation of church and state...If you check your facts, that was only an idea and statement made by I believe jefferson. Its actually not in the constitution if you check. But i would never expect you to have actually read and thouroughly looked at the constution.

  4. It definately IS happening, but as for WHY, I think it must be genetic. Europe is full of atheists now, and we got all the religious nutters.

  5. First I have to say I am a Christian, I care what happens in this fine country of ours and in my opinion, there is a complicated, underlying force at work.

ACLU and the likes made sure a long time ago that theocracy wasn't going to take place here.

The more liberal we become, the more vulnerable we become.

I believe in the Constitution. I believe in freedom. BUT, If you look at Europe right now, do a search of "europe, islam, sharia law" and you will see where Islam and Muslims have moved in and are taking over. It is not a peaceful religion no matter how they try to portray it as such.

They kill anyone not believing the same as they do.

They are trying to get laws changed that impose their beliefs on everyone else. These nations and cities are trying to change their constitutions to turn the tables on these people, to stop this takeover.

NOW, I ask you. should we try to learn from these mistakes made by others?. or..Should we learn by trial and error and let Sharia law take over our country only to realize we shouldn't have let it begin.

Now, I realize there are radical little groups of people who call themselves Christians and do terrible things, but I have say I don't see near as many of them as I see Muslims blowing up themselves and hundreds of innocents.

All that being said..Would you rather have creationism taught in schools as was the belief of most of our founding fathers. OR would you rather be forced to pray to Allah with the only alternative as being beheaded.

I'm sure you think I'm a right wing radical and alarmist, but you struck a nerve with this question and maybe I'm ranting instead of answering. , but study on this and then tell me I'm crazy.

  6. Isnt it illegal to teach creationism?  Illegal to have mandatory prayer.  Abortions are legal and safe, just having g*y s*x was enough to earn some jail time, now g*y people can legally get married in two states.  There isnt much mention of God or Jesus on tv or movies unless it is mocking Him, so where is this theocracy?

  7. As just a plan old person,  I Learned long ago never to bring up or in the topic of religion. And politics is worse!

And to be on the safe side have your Guns Loaded and close at all times.
