Why is outsourcing preferable ?

I see more and more companies closing down warehouses and get someone else to do the work

it typically cost them less (not always) and they don't have to deal with the headaches of employees etc.  i know some companies outsource the shipping. they have a specialty company that deals with shipping their product out to the public
