Oil barons and big oil producing countries  limit the supply of oil to the market to push up the price ,also massive growth in China and to some extent Indian is increasing the demand even more.

Human greed basically, look at the profits Shell announced this week £8bn for the first half of this year.

It has nothing to do with needing more cash to search for more oil as some say they have been searching for it from day 1.

Its down to sheer Human greed be that the company's pacifying share holders or gov taxes !!
