Question:

Why is police brutality/profiling so prevalent in Frankfurt?

One of the worst experiences of my life was when German police brutalized me in Frankfurt years ago for NO reason. I am a professional, American, almost 55 and offered them NO resistance or problems, but rather complete cooperation and yet they did what they did, and believe me, that will never be forgotten. I have also watched them shake down, search and physically abuse others in my nearly 23 years in Germany, normally minorities and the helpless. I seriously wonder about my host country, and specifically mayor Petra Roth's administration and "Beamter" when I see that. I am surprised no one has been killed during this World Cup. Anyone else seen some of these present-day n***s in action? I have many German friends and am hesitant to use such a term, but these people are UNNECESSARILY brutal. Why????

  1. Sorry for your experience but I have NEVER seen them do that without apparent reason so it´s hard for me to believe.

I find your words a bit harsh and wonder if your anger might be aimed in the wrong direction? I see no connection between the police and the n***s whatsoever.

Yes, there is alot of police present in Germany at the moment but they are here to protect all the fans that have come to see the World Cup from a handful of idiots and maybe your occasional terrorist that thinks this might be a great opportunity to blow up innocent people. Personally, I am glad they are lingering on every street corner quite visibly.

I can´t help but wonder where you hang out if ou have seen them shake down, search and physically abuse others in your years here. If you hang out in the red light district close to the Bahnhof you would encounter shake downs or in the areas where people generally blackmarket drugs.

The more I am reading over your "question" the more I wonder what your motif for asking is - are you expecting an answer? Did this really happen?

If there was wrong doing on the behalf of the police you should have questioned it right there and then, maybe even have gotten a lawyer to get justice because they are not beyond the law, either.

  2. i really don't know where you have been in frankfurt or what you have seen... i for my self lived almost my whole life near Frankfurt and have never seen any violence by police. not like in the US, german police get fined for any unnecessary brutallity against anyone. In my 2 month now in the US i have seen much more brutallity then in my whole life in Europe. So i think you better open our eyes and see the reality out there.

  3. The police, polizei or ordungsamt, do not use excessive force without good reason. They are empowered to do what is necessary within the law to protect the public from danger, or a perceived danger.

If you have been "brutalised" for "no reason" then you should speak to a lawyer, not look for sympathy or for people to agree with you on a yahoo message board.

I suspect when you have sobered up you will realise that.

  4. Ummm....the polizei don't play. Being law enforcement is serious business and they are given that latitude.  For those that have never seen the shakedowns.....you must have had your eyes on the castles.  Get caught drunk driving in DE and try to refuse...they'll throw your drunkass across the hood of the car and draw blood....they don't need your permission.  Rules are different there.  Walk a str8 line and look for the castle.
