  1. A barrier against racist?

When the double standard is gone, then I'll give a hoot.  In the mean time if you are white you cannot say anything without it being racist or considered profiling.

If you are black you can say the "N" word, and call white folks names

If you are "Hispanic" we are green go's and you can use whatever words you want but not the whites.

Political correctness was made up by someone in denial.

  2. That's just BS. What matters more is what a person actually believes inside. Political correctness demands that people lie and go around saying what they don't really feel. If I was a minority I would feel much better knowing how someone really thinks rather than be 'protected' by political correctness.

People should be able to be honest and say what they mean.

  3. I think 'Concerned' has the best answer. The intent of political correctness is good but the effects are devastating to a free society. Free speech is a right we all have but it comes with responsibility. That means that we have a moral responsibility to be honest but to speak in a way that would uplift our neighbor rather than tear them down. God commands us to love our neighbor with all our hearts. Well, using language that is so judgmental will not create peace and tolerance of our differences. Neither will censorship, which is all political correctness is today's society.

Racism isn't something new to this country. It's been around for a long time. Slavery - God's chosen people were slaves to the Egyptians so why can't we just get past this issue in our country? The jewish people have. It's too easy to continue looking for someone to blame rather than forgiving and moving forward together as a nation but we'll never see the full blessings that we could have as long as we're stuck in the past.

How we deal with it is measurement of our times. Loving God, a better educated citizenry and elected officials that are 'of the people' will improve our great nation to help heal the wounds of our past and present. Free speech is just as important today as it was when our founding fathers authored the longest living constitution known to man.

  4. Political Correctness, as currently practiced in the USA and in most institutions, is an effective way to cause evil people to keep their stupid mouths shut and plot their evil ways in secret.

If it were not for political correctness, the crime rate in the country, the volume of hate crimes, and crimes against children, would be much lower, perpetrators caught much faster, because they would not have kept their opinions to themselves.

But this is not why PC is often attacked by most people.

PC has been taken to ridiculous extremes by beaurocrats.  This leads not so much to people attacking PC, as to making fun of the entire concept.

  5. Since when is political correctness a barrier against racism? Political correctness is a myth first promulgated by communist Russia.

    Stop buying into the BS.

  6. How is it "a barrier against racists"?  If I say something negative about another race I am labeled a racist because of my race.  But if a racist member of another (special, wink, wink) race, makes negative statements about my race, he is labeled a comedian (or a leader of that race).  Political correctness is just a means to punish certain people for their thoughts.

  7. You don't get arrested for improper comments.  People in the media may get fired because it costs the networks some sponsors and hurts them financially.  It leaves them open to law suits from private citizens.

Political correctness is a bad term for using responsible speech and taking care not to offend people.  It makes it sound like our government is being oppressive, when in actuality, it has more to do with litigation in the private sector and financial priorities which is what makes the world go around in this country.

Racism is more than just comments.  It effects many legal and financial issues for minorities that can be done very quietly and without notice from the public, unfortunately.

  8. Political Correctness is all about stifling speech...

And the best barrier against racism is mutual tolerance, empathy, and education.

Three things the world at large seems to be in a dire need of.

  9. How is it a "barrier against racists"?  Most of the objectionable words uttered these days, (and I am referring to the use of the 'N' word) are said by those who would be offended by them.

And please explain to me how a Creche displayed at Christmas time is so offensive that it makes the ACLU giddy?

And how is it racism to have gift collection boxes set up in polling places to provide gifts for our servicemen and women?

PC-ism is one of the biggest threats to this country!

  10. Because it works against our right to Free Speech!  Do you really want to live in a country where you have to watch every word you say?   I don't!!!!

  11. Because it goes way too far and ironically enough, the end result is racism.

  12. Because the racists want to insult freely.  It's like saying someone is a Liberal.  Used to be a compliment and now it is not.

Keep fighting for manners, etiquette and political correctness.

  13. BECAUSE IT OPENS THE DOOR FOR UNMERITED LAWSUITS,for instance if you get your feelings hurt over something petty,YOU can sue because it violated your rights to be happy about everything, and NO ONE has the right to hurt your feelings

  14. Because we lose more than we gain. Political correctness goes beyond race alone. It causes people to lose their jobs over slips of the tongue. To me most anti racism laws create racism. We need to look at ourselves as americans not black americans or asian americans just plain americans. Like Judge Judy would say; "You get it!?"

  15. It is fashionable to attack Political Correctness now. Attacking it is seen as defending free speech. However, as you said, ignoring it is also used as an excuse to vomit up the most racist, homophobic and sexist speech imaginable.

Dismissing words because they are 'Politically Correct' seems like a way to ignore what used to be common decency. So really, in effect 'Decency' is now a dirty word because people now call it being 'Politically Correct'.

Political correctness should not be attacked. In the right circumstances it represents tact, diplomacy and guards against being offensive.

Really, Political Correctness is the antidote to ignorant, vicious and hateful speech that continually enters our vocabulary.

Using Politically Correct words is part of free speech as well.

  16. Oh, you'd rather people hide their feelings and sneak around behind your back to plunge in the knife? It's about honesty. Something Jesus stood for.

  17. I think political correctness is a needed movement to provide the equal opportunity for all Americans regardless of the individual's color, race, origin, and religion belief. Political correntness is a good intent or policy (you may say) to make Americans to be united in diversity. This means American government policy makers should legislate laws of equality for white, black, Haspanic, Asian, and other enthic groups to have the rights to share and access all kinds of American facilities in Education, sporting, financial, and including all public transportation and washroom. Every American should conform with this law initiated by political correctness. I was sick to see an American movie that a black lady boldly sip a mouthful of water from a drinking fountain labelled as "For White Only" in front of a park in US. Eliminate racism will make this world to become a society of harmony and stop the wars, too.

  18. Because it is a Zionist creation to legitimatize attacks on all beliefs and groups except Zionists and Zionism and an attempt to  censor and even outlaw the  exposing of Zionism and Zionists' plan for cultural warfare and world domination -- don't fall for their trick.

    Malcolm X would agree

  19. If you continually force a foreign ideology down a indigenous populations throat and tell them unless you except our views  we will punish you with prison or worse . the anger that is generated will be directed on the very ones you are trying to protect . especially if you try to alter or change the indigenous populations cherished ways and favour the foreigners ones .I can thing of no stupider way of trying to merge two cultures together . when an emigrant comes to these shores they should exept our ways or not come at all , and in the case of a medieval culture that wants to imbue there stone age religion on us , when our ancesters fought and died to advance this far the mind boggles

  20. Because it has moved into the realm of ridiculous.  For example Ho Ho Ho not being used because some recent cultural Ebonics language used the ho to refer to a prostitute.  I guess we would be insulting whores.

  21. Political correctness is what is ruining this nation. It attacks the free thought and speech of only certain individuals (mainly White, Christian people). It allows all minorities to express some of the most vile and hateful opinions of other people and even our great nation without fear of criticism  or reprisal under a shield called the word "Racism". It goes way too far off the track of its original intentions of being fair to all races and people...Which, coincidentally is the very principal this nation was founded on... Its a meal ticket to some people. (See Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, flying around the world in private jets and 5 or 6,000 dollar suits while their own people suffer, kill eachother, and live in poverty in many cities of America today). Their is always a few people who benefit from PC thought, and many who do not. Like many liberal thought processes, it INTENDS to do well, but it does more damage than good to our society.

Im thoroughly convinced that if Hitler had won the war, the world would be under a form of German, racist, political correctness. Which is not that far off track from the current socialist, anti-white, politically correct agenda. Whenever you stifle the free speach and opinions of any one group of people for political gain, financial gain, or just to feel good about yourself for doing so in the name of "fairness".... that is called...."Facism".

In modern day America.... you can call it "White Guilt", the "Corporate Mentality", or; political correctness. After all, the only good white man is a white man on his knees in todays; America.

Do you think that is an incorrect statement?

See the interviews of "The Dog" Chapman apologizing and begging for forgiveness while tears are rolling down his eyes as an example of what political correctness can do to a man's livelihood and career if it isnt followed properly by all white people.

Do we see that same apology and standard applied to Rap artists who regularly use the "N" word? Hmmm. Dont think so. For example, when is the last time we seen 50 cent apologize to his own people for talking about killing them, degrading women, or using the "N" word to demean them?

To say a double standard does not apply in the PC world is laughable at best.

Same with the illegal immigration arguement. Political correctness stifles your ability to protect the very soveriegnty of this great nation at it's borders. Any disagreement or admonishment that our borders need to be protected is labeled "racism". This isnt just plain wrong, its insanity! No nation in history can survive long as a country without protecting the very borders that define it.

You think thats racist as well?

Hmmm, is that the same thing as Corporate America paying the Mexicans peanuts and using them as the modern day version of paid slaves in order to widen their profit margins?

Nahh... that wouldnt be considered racism either would it?

    The truth is...

Political correctness is ruining America and its original intent of being fair and eqaul to all people does not exhist any more. Its a tool to use against people to stifle their ability to speak on a number of subjects fairly. Its a tool to use against your political opponents and try to trash them in whatever PC manner is possible and to deny everyone else power and place only PC thinkers in charge of the nation.(See our terrible Public Education System which is fast becoming the best example of the liberal thought process gone wild, and the biggest laughing stock in the world).

Just take a look at any Liberal college campus and see what happens when Conservative authors or pundits attempt to speak on any host of issues pertaining to thought processes and opinions that do not agree with the Liberal mindset of Political Correctness. They are shouted down, threatened and intimidated.....Sometimes worse.

Ironically, Hitler used college students in his country to do the same exact thing when he rose to power. Any opposition was stifled and threatened much in the same manner.

Political correctness is a dismal failure, and a disgrace to the people who fought hard and sacrificed to give us all the freedom to express our opionions no matter how ridiculous they may be... OR.. how much we may disagree with them.

Now, its used to attack and smear people you do not idealogically agree with.

    Thats not American.

Political Correctness is nothing more than modern day facism in disguise.

    Thats my take on it.

  22. How is it a barrier against racism? It doesn't stop people from thinking what they are going to think. Its an assine idea who's time has come to go bye bye. Who ever said we have the freedom from getting our feelings hurt?
