  1. Because sailing has been around for much longer than plumbing on ships.  The p**p deck is a particular spot Often at the "rear of the ship" to throw out the "p**p".


  2. "The name originates from the French word (la poupe) for stern, so the p**p deck is the stern deck, which in sailing ships was usually elevated as the roof of the stern (or 'after') cabin. In sailing ships, with the helmsman at the stern, an elevated position was ideal for both navigation and observation of the crew and sails."

  3. Because by the time you are finished cleaning the deck you are "pooped".  That's why they call it the "p**p deck"

  5. i always thought it was because in the navy that's where we received our plan of the day...i.e.-the "p**p" rolled downhill.
