  1. Because he is HRH Prince Harry

    -SS (-:Smiling Star-:)

  2. His haircut is an acceptable length for being an officer and a gentleman.....Not every one wants or needs to look like an extra from "Jarhead"

  3. All men in the military should have their hair cut as short as possible.

  4. Well, he is the favourite British Prince, and he is the PRINCE, he owns!  If he  don't wanna get a haircut, he don't get no hair cut! XD

  5. His hair is not exactly long now, is it? It looks a bit scruffy but I think that is just because it is thick & wiry.

  6. There are rules for common people, and then there are rules for the elite. They are very different

  7. British soldiers have to cut their hair, only if their commander says so. Unlike American male recruits, for whom the buzz cut is part of the initiation into the service, the British Ministry of Defence leaves coiffure decisions up to individual regiment leaders. Most require new recruits to report with neatly groomed hair of modest length; they'll even go so far as to prohibit cuts shorter than about 1 centimeter.

The differing standards are representative of the British army's organization, which emphasizes loyalty to one's regiment in addition to the army as a whole. Unlike the U.S. commanders, whose "Army of one" approach emphasizes uniformity among service members, the Minister of Defence tolerates a little bit of panache.

Historically, facial-hair styles have conferred status to British officers. Soldiers across the pond picked up the habit of growing mustaches in the early 19th century while living in India. The colonial mustache became so prevalent, in fact, that by the middle of the century, British officers serving in the East India Co.'s forces were required to grow them. Several British authors have gone so far as to equate the rise and fall in the popularity of the mustache with the strength and decline of the British Empire.

  8. Is he on holiday? They can have beards and everything on their days off. My exhusband was in the military and he used to love his days off so he didn't shave. His hair was short back and sides but it wasn't that short on top. He didn't have to have a skin head. In what way does shaving off all your hair look smart?

I bet he wouldn't get made homeless and charged the court costs to be made homeless after I split from my husband and the council said I didn't have any local connections if I was in an area with the military so I couldn't  be put on the housing association list.

  9. er, it doesnt look that much longer than the other soldiers hair ive seen, they havent been exactly razored either...

  10. Because he is the prince

  11. Same reason as William was loaned a helicopter to fly to a stag party. They are The Elite and must be pampered.Touch of the forelocks and all that.Which officer would be brave enough to risk his career by making them toe the line?
